As time passes us by, places change; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse - but that's irrelevant. This website is a collection of photographs taken by me in various places that have generally been abandoned and forgotten about by human civilisation.  Some of the places I've visited to document the building before it is demolished or converted into something else. Some of these places still lie there abandoned and forgotton about until they rot into a state beyond repair. 

Most of these places have served their purpose, are no longer required and have just been left as monuments to their past. Others are there because newer buildings have tempted the people that used them away, and some because the companies or people that own them are no longer around. They are all interesting in their own way, and are all a piece of history however small or large they maybe.

To many people a lot of these places are ugly derelict buildings and places that need to be flattened for the next block of luxury apartments to be built on their land. Because few of these places are of any historical significance, they are in danger of being totally forgotten about by future generations, like so many places that have come before and so many places that will disappear in the future. This website aims to document some of them before they are lost in the development frezy that the new millenium has become.

I hope viewing this site may open your eyes to a different part of history. Most towns and cities have many many empty and derelict buildings all waiting for something to happen to them, some of which you probably pass by on a daily basis without even noticing. Maybe you'll wonder, as I do, what's actually behind that fence?
